Earl John Ritterbeck, age 75, of Port Orange, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 24, 2013. A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona between the hours of 2:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Daytona on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. The burial will immediately follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery.

Earl was born on February 25, 1938 in Summerfield, Ohio to the late Loretta Shoemaker and Earl Ritterbeck. Following High School, Earl enlisted in the United States Army, transferred to the United States Air Force, and subsequently to the United States Navy. He was a Veteran of both the Korean and the Vietnam War. He worked as a Flight Engineer in the Navy, retiring in 1974 after 20 years of honorable service. Earl also worked for 7 years as a tech rep with Lockheed Martin. He also owned his own trucking company for 20 years. Earl enjoyed motorcycles, sailing, RV motoring and spending time with his family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 31 years, Lily Ritterbeck, of Port Orange, FL; children, Mike (Patricia) Ritterbeck, of Many, LA; Jonna Ritterbeck, of Houston, TX; Mark (Jamie) Ritterbeck, of San Diego, CA; Stacy (Corey) Miller, of Ormond Beach, FL; siblings, Artie Early; Retta Jo Russell; grandchildren, A.J Ritterbeck, Lee Ritterbeck, Justin Ritterbeck, Jake Ritterbeck, Alice Miller, Jackson Ritterbeck, Julius Miller, Isaac Miller, Stevie Ritterbeck, Simon Miller; great-grandson Noah Ritterbeck; many extended family members, and friends.
