Earl K. Minney, age 71, after a protracted battle with cancer, died on September 28th 2016, in Palm Coast Florida. He leaves behind his loving wife, Sally K. Minney, sister Linda Eastmon, daughter Angela Lee Melendez, son Scott Keith Minney, and step-son Carl Kolek Jr. as well as 5 grand-children and 2 great-grandchildren.
Earl was born on January 18th, 1945 in Tonawanda, New York, to father Earl J. Minney and mother Betty Minney. He grew up in Tonawanda, graduating from Tonawanda High School in 1963. After high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force, and was on active duty for 4 years. He joined the Air Force Reserves in 1981, where he served 24 years, retiring in 2005.
Earl married his soul mate Sally Minney on October 5th 1979. They both lived in Cheektowaga New York for many years, and then decided to move to Palm Coast Florida where they have resided since 2009. Earl attended Grace Tabernacle Church and volunteered at the Grace Food Pantry every Saturday when his health allowed.
Earl requested to be cremated. His ashes will be interred in the Adirondack mountains where he grew up. It was here, with his family, that he fell in love with the outdoors. Earl was an avid fisherman, canoer, hunter, and bowler.
A memorial ceremony will be held on Tuesday, the 4th of October at 5:30PM at the Lohman funeral home, Palm Coast Florida, 220 Palm Coast Parkway SW. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Food Pantry or Haven Hospice.
