Earl S. Hyland 81 of Port Orange passed away on Friday July 23 2010 with his family at his side. A funeral mass with military honors will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday July 27 2010 at The Church of the Epiphany 201 Lafayette Street Port Orange. A visitation is scheduled from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday July 26 2010 with a prayer service at 6:30 pm at the chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange 1201 Dunlawton Ave. Port Orange. Earl was born in Detroit Michigan and raised in Toronto Canada. He proudly served his country in the Unites States Marine Corps during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After his retirement from the Marine Corps in November 1978 he moved to Port Orange where he met and married his loving wife Priscilla (Eisberg) Hyland. Earl was an avid stamp and coin collector. He had a lucky love for playing casino games and lottery. A very sociable man he made everyone feel at ease and enjoy having a great time. Earl was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Port Orange. He proudly lived the motto "once a Marine always a Marine." Earl was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Charlotte Hallett Hyland. Left to cherish their memories together of their lives are his wife Priscilla; his stepdaughters Cynthia (Edward) McDermott of Providence RI and Katherine (Vincent) Ierace of New Fairfield CT; his grandchildren Christine (Bill) O'Connell and Vincent Nicholas and Marie Ierace; his nephew Joe (Sharon) Hyland of Beamsville Ontario Canada; and his grandnephews and grandniece Joseph Jeff and Courtney Ann Hyland.
