Earl L. Detweiler 89 passed away peacefully on December 16 2010 at Florida Hospital/Hospice Care Ormond Beach. He was born in Bucks County Penn to Allen and Hattie Detweiler in 1921. A memorial service will take place Monday December 20 2010 at Lohman Funeral Home Chapel 1423 Bellevue Ave Daytona Beach Fl from 7-8pm. Earl served honorably in the US Army in WWII and moved to the Daytona Beach area where he was employed by Foremost Dairies. He then pursued a career in the electrical trade where he became a Journeyman Electrician. He was employed locally and worked on such projects as Cape Canaveral and Disney World before retiring in 1983. He was a very avid golfer before and after retirement. Earl was known in his neighborhood for his knowledge of repairing and rebuilding small engines. He volunteered for the S. Daytona Police Dept and WORC Inc. He was predeceased by his loving wife Elinore and daughter Pamela Pilcher. Survivors include 2 sisters from Pennsylvania 1 son-in-law George (Doris) Pilcher 3 daughters Donna Detweiler of Ormond Beach: Susan (Brad) Brown of S. Daytona and Pat Tallon of Wyoming. He will be missed by his many grandchildren and friends. Earl was a baptized believer in Jesus Christ and a member of Tomoka Christ Church.
