“DJ” Dustin Thomas Rose, 19, of DeLand, Florida and Charleston, South Carolina, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. He was born on February 1, 2007, in Daytona Beach, Florida.

DJ attended Citrus Grove Elementary School. In 8th grade he was accepted to Camden Military Academy in Camden South Carolina to attend and complete his high school. Afterwards he was honored to be accepted into the Citadel Military College of South Carolina and joined the South Carolina National Guard. As a Guardsman and Citadel student, he was living his dreams!

The days were challenging, but worth it to work towards his accomplishments. DJ was a leader and a man of integrity. He excelled in his positions at the academy and made new friends along the way.

DJ also stayed connected to his friends in Florida while he was away. He loved listening to music and hanging out with friends and family.

DJ is survived by his loving parents, WM Thomas and Marlyn Rose; Rachel Rose; and other extended family and friends.

There will be a Funeral Service on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 11AM at the First Assembly of DeLand located at 551 South Kepler Road, DeLand, Florida 32724. Interment and military honors will immediately follow at DeLand Memorial Gardens, DeLand, Florida
