Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Douglas A. Watson age 83 of Whooping Crane Drive DeLeon Springs FL announces his passing. Douglas passed away at his home on Thursday July 6 2006. He was born on January 12 1923 in Englewood New Jersey. After dating Muriel Kaiser for many years he married her on June 22 1946; and together they just celebrated 60 years of love and devotion. They raised 2 children for whom he was a devoted father while he worked as a police officer for the Port Authority of New York City. After he retired from the police force he worked as a boiler maker. Mr. Watson was honorably discharged in November 1945 from the US ARMY as a corporal in the Army Air Force after serving for 3 yrs in WWII. Later he became a history buff on battle strategies and war. He hand-painted and collected miniature soldiers. He also enjoyed woodworking and carving. In 1985 he and his wife moved from Bogota NJ to DeLeon Springs FL. In addition to his wife Muriel; he is survived by a son Wayne Pamela Watson of DeLand FL and a daughter Kristine Michael Crawford of Casselberry FL. Also 3 grandchildren; David Brandi Watson of Oviedo FL; Jessica Tom Nesteruk of Heathrow FL and Shannon Crawford of Casselberry FL; there are also 3 great-grandchildren Miranda and Jacob Watson and Abigail Nesteruk. Mr. Watson was predeceased by a grandson Geoffrey Crawford in 2003 and a great-grandson Joseph Watson in 2004. Memorial donations may be made in his honor to the American Heart Association 555 W.
