Doug was born in Morris, IL on May 27, 1924, served our country in the Navy during WWII, graduated from Ohio Weslyan in 1948 and had a long career in advertising and marketing. He was an avid tennis player, prolific gardener and an accomplished painter and photographer. He loved to read, was enjoying learning to cook and, of course, there was his beloved fishing--"an organized form of loafing" as he once said. There were never enough hours in any one day for him to do all the things he wanted to learn, create or accomplish.
A special thank you to the "drill instructor" Kathy Seib who has been Dad's constant support through the past year and a half. A celebration of Doug's life will be held at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange, 1201 Dunlawton Ave, Port Orange FL 32127 at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 31st.
All are invited to stay and share memories at a reception following the service. If so desired, please direct memorials to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange FL 32129.
