Beloved Dorothy Ann Young 83 of Daytona Beach Shores passed away on July 14 2009. Born in Florence South Carolina Mrs. Young moved to Florida with her family in 1965 after residing in Maine. She was a proud Sunshine Lady volunteer at Ormond Beach Hospital for over 30 years and was a ray of light to those whose lives she touched. She loved spending time at her lake cottage with her family and spoiling their palates with her delicious cooking at every opportunity. And she always made time to tend to her patio garden especially her favorite flowers of all time her sweet daisies. Mrs. Young is survived and missed by her husband of 64 years Major Earl H. Young; son Steven Young and his wife Katherine Hemmens Young; daughter Linda Young Worsham and her husband Robert A. Worsham; grandson Brian R. Worsham and his wife and daughter Rie and Chiaki Worsham; grandson Rusty Worsham and his wife Pam Morales-Worsham; brother James Belvin and his family; her furry friends Mitsu and Scampi; and her loving friends. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Doris Calcutt and her mother Florie Carraway. Mrs. Young had said she wanted to "leave an after life of smiles when life is done" and that is truly her legacy. A private memorial is being planned by her family.
