Obituary

Dorothy A. Phillips, 78, of Ponce Inlet, Fla., passed away August 28, 2015. She was born January 6, 1937 in Lockhart, Texas to Oma Lea (Patton) and Robert Gray. She was a longtime resident of Pasadena, Texas and a 1955 graduate of Pasadena High School.

Dorothy is remembered lovingly by her family and friends as a devoted sister, an independent and doting aunt to her nieces and nephews, a voracious reader, a loyal friend and a lifelong fan of the University of Texas Longhorns (Hook 'em Horns). She spent her professional career in various executive administrative areas of the financial and investment industry, retiring from Morgan Stanley of Houston, Texas in 2013.

She is survived by her sisters, Betty Joyce Green and her husband Stanley of Edmond, Okla., Bobbie Ruth Perry and her husband Harold of Kerrville, Texas and sister-in-law Sherry Gray of Pasadena, Texas. Nieces: Stacy Rottluff of Blythewood, S.C., Debbie Pace-Rowland of Pasadena, Texas and Kristen Kemp of Kerrville, Texas. Nephews: Greg Green of Ponce Inlet, Fla., Todd Green of Sand Springs, Okla., and Ty Gray of Pasadena, Texas, Kevin Perry of San Antonio, Texas, and Keith Perry of Memphis, Tenn. Great nieces: Brittany Green Gloersen of DeLand, Fla., Jessica Smith of Blythewood, S.C., Claire Perry of Memphis, Tenn., Samatha Kemp of Kerrville, Texas, Chelsea Pace and daughter Riley of Pasadena, Texas and Tiffany Perry of San Antonio, Texas. Great nephews: T.J. Green of Tyler, Texas, Justin Green of Tampa, Fla., Jacob Rottluff of Blythewood, S.C., Thomas Perry of Memphis, Tenn., Jonathan Kemp of Kerrville, Texas and Timothy and Trevor Perry of San Antonio, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bill Gray.

A memorial service will be held in the Chapel at Forest Park East in Houston, Texas, September 5, 2015 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange. Condolences may be shared with the family through this online guestbook.
