Dorothy Hodge Phifer age 80 of Port Orange passed away on Sunday April 10 2005 at Daytona Beach Health and Rehab Center. The family will receive friends in the chapel of Baggett & Summers Funeral Home on Thursdaytomorrow from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at Dunbar Funeral Home in Columbia S.C. on Saturday April 16 2005 at 1:00 PM and Interment will follow at Old Richland Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Eastover S.C..

Dorothy was born January 7 1925 in Eastover S.C.; the daughter of Ernest Hodge and Ruth Saunders. She moved to the Halifax area in 1964 from Concord North Carolina. Dorothy was a homemaker in her adult life and will be remembered for love for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years Hal Phifer; a brother Donald and sisters Anna Grace Ruth Belle and Ethel.

Left to cherish her memories are her children Hal ?Sonny? Phifer Jr.Trish of Palm Bay FL Vicki Gibson Bob of Concord NC Greg Phifer Maureen of Kennesaw GA and Anthony ?Tony? Phifer Tracie of Daytona Beach FL; 12 grandchildren Randy Angie Riki Tami Dean Melissa Vanessa Nicole Tiffany Megan Joshua and Garth; 6 great grandchildren Garrett Taylor Chelsea McKenzi Sydney and Isabelle; sisters Betty Janice and Judy and several nieces and nephews.
