Dorothy "Dottie" Louise Remington age 73 who was born in Arkansas and became a longtime resident of Edgewater FL in 1967 passed on this 29th day of April 2010. A funeral service in her honor will be held Wednesday May 5 2010; 11:00 AM at the Daytona Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home with Pastor Sonny Gallman officiating. Interment will follow at Daytona Memorial Park. The viewing hours will be Tuesday 5/4/10; 5-7PM. Dottie was a remarkable woman if you knew her you were blessed she was a loving caring wife mother grandmother and person. Dottie will be missed by everyone whose life she touched. She loved her family more than anything and showed that every day of her life. Dottie is survived by her loving husband of 57 years Walter "Al" Remington Sr. who whisked her up when they met they fell in love and got married. Together they rasied five boys. She worked in the kitchen at American Legion Post 17 serving wonderful meals for many years she organized or helped organized several functions for children at the Legion for Halloween Christmas and Easter and she also worked at the Edgewater Winn Dixie in the Deli Department. Dottie loved shopping gardening and taking care of her yard with her husband. Dottie was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 17 New Smyrna Beach. She is not only survived by her loving husband but also her five sons: Walter "Allen" (Chris) Remington Jr. James Michael (Lisa) Remington Larry Remington Gerald "Jerry" (Amy) Remington all of Edgewater FL and Karl (Patricia) Remington of Titusville FL 3 siblings; Mary Frances Peggy and Buddy Lewis siblings; Mary Frances Peggy and Buddy Lewis 15 grandchildren Kristin Manes Michael Weber James Remington Christopher Remington Marissa Remington Keavy Remington Dwayne Remington Sherri Remington Josh Remington Jeremy Remington Adrienne Simmerman Jesse Remington Courtney Remington Richard Chaudoin and Ryan Urice and many great grandchildren
