Dorothy E. Peterson 81 of Port Orange passed peacefully away Sunday January 18 2009 at her residence.
Dorothy was born on March 1 1927 in Newark New Jersey the daughter of George and Florence (Labar) Newman. She was united in marriage to Donald Peterson on March 22 1947. She was a past member of the Spruce Creek Country Club and the General Electric retiree and spouses Association. In her free time Dorothy enjoyed singing cooking and loved playing bridge.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 61 years Donald Port Orange; daughter Candace Geissler; grandchildren Kimberly Hefner Kelly Matzen Kristy Dunham Katy Matzen Karly Matzen Michelle Clark Jessica Geissler; great grandchildren; Jacob Hefner Elizabeth Hefner Ethan Hefner Grace Hefner Margaret Dunham Kyle Matzen and Ethan Clark.
She was Preceded in death by her parents and her loving daughter Cathy Lynn Matzen.
A time for services at the Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange will be announced at a later date.
