Dorothy Alta Dearth, 60, of St. Augustine, Florida went to be with her Lord on February 12, 2025 after a brave battle with cancer. She went peacefully with family at her side.

Dorothy graduated from Bangor High School (1983), Spring Arbor College, (1987), and Eastern Michigan University (1993) with her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Development.

Her passion in life was teaching and caring for children; making a positive impact in the lives of many children over her 35-year career.

She loved life, music, literature, and walking on the beach, along with laughter and good times with family and friends. Having a rather amusing obsession with her favorite color purple, one of her challenges through life was to obtain any and all objects in any of her favorite hues; down to her favorite purple coffee maker.

Dorothy was predeceased by her father Rev. Dr. Jack L. Dearth in 2021, and will be greatly missed by by her mother, Carol, and four brothers, Jack (Marilyn), Tim (Karin), Steve (Betty), and Phill, her nephew Matt (Anna), niece Katie (Nathan), nephew Joel, and great-nephews, Caleb, Josiah, and Noah, and countless family and friends.
