Dorma Stanley was born in Springfield, Ohio, on August 2nd, 1932, to Earl Ross and Helen (Boggess) Ross. Dorma worked for 20 years for the Federal Government. Most of her career was at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio as a secretary to General officers in the Plans and Programs area. The last three years she transferred to Tinker AFB, Oklahoma where she ended her career as an Administrative Specialist. Moved from Oklahoma to Crescent Beach, Florida in 1973 – then to Ormond Beach, Florida in 1982. She loved traveling, reading, knitting, all sports – especially her Florida Gators and Ohio State Buckeyes. Dorma's retired life was filled with family, friends, and volunteering mostly with church activities. She was involved with Altar Guild, church office desk, information desk, feeding homeless, Great Kids, communion server, Stephen's Ministry, etc. She was preceded in death by three husbands, William M. Troxell, Colonel Edward L. Thompson, and Dr. Harold R. Stanley; son, William E. Troxell, Sr.; and stepdaughter, Cheryl (Stanley) Simpson. She is survived by her step-children, Sherry Thompson, Brad Thompson, Chris Neurauter, H. Russell Stanley; step son-in-law, Kim Simpson; three grandchildren, William E. Troxell, Jr, Levi Troxell, and Chrissie (Troxell) Abbott, all in Tennessee; five step grandchildren, Katie (Thompson) Pike, Luke Neurauter, Sarah (Neurauter) Crigler, Heather (Simpson) Martin and Lauren (Simpson) Weseman; seven great-grandchildren, twelve step-great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and seventeen step-great-great-grandchildren. She often said that she had proof that God answers prayers – being an only child, she had prayed for children and was blessed with a wonderful family.
