Obituary

Doris I. Sabine, of Deland, Florida, passed away on February 14, 2016. She was born on October 3, 1922 in Northampton, England to Henry and Mae Barber.

Doris Barber married Donald Sabine in Northampton, England on January 1945. Her loving husband Donald Sabine passed away March 15, 1990. He served in the WWII, United States Army Air Corps. On Easter morning April 1946, Doris and her daughter, Beverly arrived in the United States to begin her life in America with her husband and family. They later had two sons Jack and Kenneth.

Doris was an avid bowler, bingo player and a volunteer for Fish Memorial Hospital. A member of the Red Hat Society and Moose Lodge of Debary. She loved to sing karaoke, dance. She also enjoyed painting and knitting.

She is survived by her children Beverly (David) King of Deland, Jack (Charlotte) Sabine of Columbia CT, Kenneth (Robin) Sabine of Windsor Locks CT; grandchildren Cynthia (Brian) Maul of Deland FL, Glenn Raup of Deland, FL, Donald (Joanne) Raup of Windsor Locks CT, Lindsey (Dean) Dellavecchia of Southington, CT, Derek (Mary) Sabine of Stamford, CT, Samatha (Keith) Lord of Arden, NC, Matthew Sabine of Columbus, NC; brothers David and Tony Barber of Northampton, England; great grandchildren Cassie Burdick, Trevor Maul, Camryn Raup, Cassidy Raup, Chris Orr, Casey Orr, Emma and Kensington Delavecchia.

In Lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Judes Children Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 10:00am at East Granby Congregational Church, 9 Rainbow Road, East Granby, CT 06026
