Obituary

Doris Gayle (Hatfield) Roose soared to Heaven on Friday, July 7, 2023, at 7:25 PM in Palm Coast, Florida at the age of 87-years old.  Her father, Epp Hatfield, mother, Ethel Conley (Hatfield), brother, Daniel Clyde Hatfield and husband, Robert Erickson Roose, all preceded her passing.

She is survived by her three children, Robyn Beckett Young (Gregory), Mark Carlyle Roose (Carol) and Robert John Roose (Shelley).

Grandmother to 9 grandchildren:  Justin Erickson Roose Beckett, Mark Carlyle Roose III (Chelsea), Scarlett Jean Beckett,  Nichole Renee Smith (Corey), Jaron James Beckett (Lauren), Chynna Beth Lucken (Evan), Jordan Thomas Beckett, Zachary Robert Roose (Renee) and Robert Erickson Roose.

Great-Grandmother to 9 great-grandchildren:  Tiffany Nicole Roose, Joseph Thomas Beckett, Benjamin Lucas Smith,  Jovie Olivia Smith, Jacob Lucas Beckett, Oliver Charles Smith, Marianna Lynn Roose, Noelle Marcella Smith and Jett James Beckett.

Doris Gayle Hatfield was born on May 14,1936 in Logan County, West Virginia.  She was always known for having great pride in being a Hatfield from the Hatfield vs. McCoy's era.  After graduating with honors, she took a job with the FBI in Washington D.C. where she met her husband, Robert Erickson Roose, who was just out of the Marine Corp.  They married in October of 1957 and had 57 years of marriage together.  Doris was a singer-songwriter and loved her family and pets.  She was a beautiful Christian woman and lived by the lyrics from Amazing Grace!  She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 18th, 2023, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Macomb with reception to follow at Da Francisco's, 49521 Van Dyke Ave., Shelby Twp., MI.  Flowers may be offered at the church office located at 47120 Romeo Plank Road, Macomb, FL 48044.  Doris will be buried with her husband, Robert, at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
