Doris Elaine Remsburg (Fulce), of Ormond Beach, passed away peacefully at home on August 9, 2022 under the loving care of family and friends. She was 97 years old.

Doris was the beloved wife for 56 years to her husband, the late Charles Gordon Remsburg of Frederick, Maryland. Devoted mother to her daughter, Elaine Pasqual (Remsburg) and her husband, John, of Westampton, NJ, and her son, Bruce Remsburg of Ormond Beach and his fiancé Tari Cox. Cherished grandmother to grandsons Jeffrey Pasqual, Michael Pasqual and his wife Marianne (Tacito), and Anthony Pasqual.

Born on January 3, 1925, in Daytona Beach, Florida, she was the youngest of five children. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Ida (Snow) Fulce, her siblings Elsie (the late O. Lloyd) Moody, Pearl (the late Frank) Sharpton, Carl Fulce, and Dorion (the late Patricia) Fulce. She is survived by her niece, Peggy (Olin) Hopes, nephew, Ronald Sharpton, and many cousins.

Doris grew up in Daytona Beach, and was a graduate of Mainland High School Class of 1943. During World War II, she moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked for Transcontinental and Western Airlines. Later, Doris taught ballroom dancing at Arthur Murray Dance Studio. It was there that she first met Gordon Remsburg, one of her dance students, whom she married in 1949. She and Gordon raised their two children in University Park, Maryland until 1976, when they retired to Ormond Beach, Florida.

Soon after, Doris began taking Hawaiian hula lessons through the Ormond Beach Senior Center. One night, she attended a performance of the Senior Center Show Club, after which she declared, "I can do that!" Doris was in the very next show as a tap dancer. She became an active member of the Show Club, sharing her talents as a dancer, choreographer and show director for many years. She continued her show biz career as a performer in the lip sync group, Kopy Kats, impersonating such favorites as Marilyn Monroe and Liza Manelli, as well as becoming producer/director for five years.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Daytona Beach. She enjoyed her home on the Halifax River, vacations in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina, visits with her three grandsons, and playing her favorite ragtime tunes on the piano, all of which she knew by heart!

Our family would like to express our gratitude to owner Kim Uhlik and all of the caregivers from Caring Assistance for Your Family, for their many years of caring for Doris at home, particularly Carole Wentworth, Ginger Daire, and Robin Gontner, who were there during a critical time. We also would like to thank family friend, Lynne Saro, who was an avid fan and indispensable supporter of Doris during her final years of life.

Visitation will be held at 1:30 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at First Christian Church of Daytona Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to First Christian. (www.firstchristiandaytona.org) Doris will be laid to rest alongside her husband, at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frederick, Maryland at a later date.
