Doris (Dot) Leigh Thompson Barnes, 87, of Samsula went to be with the Lord on April 13, 2015 at home surrounded by family and friends.

Doris was born on March 30, 1928 in High Point, North Carolina to James and Alice Thompson and moved to Florida in 1945 after her marriage. Her husband of 57 year, Kenneth Barnes preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are her three sons: Kenneth, Jr. of Deland, FL., James (Jeje) of Houston, Tx., Michael (Janny) of Maysville, Ga. and her daughter Janet (John) Antienowicz of Edgewater, Fl. She is survived by twelve cherished grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Hilton of Samsula. Doris will be deeply missed by many. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers; Charles Allen Thompson of Richmond, Va., and Jerry Neal Thompson of New Smyrna Beach, Fl.

Funeral services will be celebrated on April 20, 2015 at 1 pm at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona, 1423 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach, Fl, with a viewing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Daytona Memorial Park Cemetery, 1425 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beachl. Pastor Daniel Cox of Space Coast Baptist Church of Samsula will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Doris' name to Space Coast Baptist Church, 223 North Samsula Drive, New Smyrna Beach, Fl. 32168.
