Doris M. Abrams of Deland, Florida passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on July 11, 2020.
Doris was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 28 to William and Dorothy Havecker. She graduated from Tilden High School. She met the love of her life and tied the knot in 1952. They started a family and moved to Rockland County, New York in the late 60s. After retirement in 1991, they moved to Deland, Florida and her family soon followed.
Doris comes from a long line of Masons. She and her husband, Joseph, were active in the Tall Cedars and the Shrine, both are Masonic organizations that raise money for MDA and the Shriners Hospitals. She was a Rainbow girl, then joined the Eastern Star where she was a member for over 50 years.
Doris was an active member in her community where she was the welcoming lady and organized the community's Bingo and Bunco game nights. She also volunteered in the food pantry at her church and donated to numerous charities.
Besides being an avid Bingo and Bunco lover, she enjoyed sewing, gardening and playing games in general. She loved to have fun. She had a smile for everyone she met and a knack for making people feel comfortable instantly. Doris was an amazing person and dedicated mother. She treasured her children and family and especially loved her role as Nana.
Doris is preceded in death by her husband, whom she missed terribly and will be celebrating their 68 th wedding anniversary together in heaven this year. She is survived by her two daughters, Joanne Greco and Diane Salinas and their spouses and her one son, Don Abrams. She has 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and her beloved dog, Diego.
A funeral service will be held Thursday July 23, 2020, from 2-4 pm and from 7-8 pm at:

Graveside service will be held Friday July 24, 2020, in the cemetery's chapel at 11am with a reception immediately following at:
