Dora F. Duchesneau died October 6, 2015 at Halifax Health Hospice in Port Orange after a month long illness; she was 93.

Dora was born in Hartford, CT to Arthur Chamberlain and Mary Lou Berube on November 16, 1921. Dora had one sister, Evelyn, who preceded her in death, and is survived by her two brothers, Norman Chamberlain of Manchester, CT and Henry Chamberlain of Groton, CT.

Dora graduated from Hartford H.S. in 1940 and began employment shortly thereafter with the Fuller Brush Company in Hartford during the war years. On September 15, 1945, Dora married Oliver "Al" Duchesneau; a love story that lasted until his death in 1985. Dora and Al had two sons; Dennis, who sadly preceded her in death in December 2014 and Gary of Millsboro, De. Dora "kept an eye on her boys" by working at the school cafeteria of their high school, East Catholic, in Manchester Ct.

Dora is also survived by two daughters-in-law, Jacqueline and Susan Duchesneau; grandchildren, Caryn Lyn and Dennis Joseph Duchesneau; nieces, Gail Keaton, Jennifer Goode, Diane Parish and Mary Lou Grady; nephews, David, Bruce, Thomas and Donald Chamberlain. Her niece, Carol Shubert, also preceded her in death.

Dora had many friends in both Connecticut and Florida, probably because she made friends so easily. One "lifer" stands out, however; she and her dear friend, Bernice Lamoureux, were "besties" for almost 90 years.

A skilled seamstress and homemaker, Dora made many of her own clothes and accessories, both for her and her home. She enjoyed listening to her favorite music and ballroom dancing, though in her youth, she studied ballet. Dora loved entertaining both her family and friends and that talent was evident as she partnered with her husband in their food service business, Hartford Market Caterers.

Dora was thankful for her many years of good health, demonstrated both thoughtfulness and caring of others in the neighborhood, and gave back by transporting those less fortunate to their various appointments around town. She was still driving at the age of 88, when a partial stroke unfortunately changed her lifestyle. Even as she spent her final years at Manila Home Care in Port Orange, Fl., she brightened each day for the staff and other residents there as well, with her smile and good humor. Her Family and friends alike will miss her warmth and kindness.
