Donn Alexander Thomas

Died:  Daytona Beach, Florida
Donn died peacefully at home in his bedroom after a nearly 50 year struggle with mental illness.  He is survived by his sister, Cherie A. Thomas, MD of Honolulu, HI and "Little Brother"  Bruce G.  Thomas of Lenexa, KS, Uncle Carl and Aunt Brunel Howorth of Raymond, MS and beloved cats, Sunshine and Midnight.  He enjoyed motorcycles, muscle cars, playing guitar and smoking cigarettes.
Our Family would like to truly thank the medical and psychiatric team at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach for their love and care for "our" brother, Donn, as well as the Volusia County Sheriff's office, EMT's and the SMA clinic staff and retired staff for all their constant care for Donn's extensive medication needs.  A Special Thank You to "Team Donn" consisting of "Angel Ann", "Marvelous Marcy" and Mary aka, "Mrs. Regan".  Another Special Thank You to Dr. Christopher Larrazabal, MD and Dr. John Caliendo and the entire Lana Medical Center Staff.  Donn suffered from paranoid schizophrenia since his early teenage on-set and the addition of COPD in his late years.  He was a true testament to the strong will to live in the face of untold suffering.  He did his best daily to enjoy life and to be a law abiding citizen.
A Visitation will be held from 12:00pm until 1:00pm on Wednesday February 16, 2022 in the Chapel at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona, 1423 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach, FL.  The Graveside Service will be held at 1:00pm also on Wednesday February 16, 2022 in Daytona Memorial Park, 1428 Bellevue Avenue.
