Donald Robert Versigghel, 88 of Holly Hill, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on November 9, 2013.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 6:00 p.m. at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond, 733 W. Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach, FL, 32174. The family will receive guests from 5:30 until 6:00 p.m. prior to the service .

Donald was born on March 8, 1925 in Mishawaka, Indiana, to the late Evelyn and Cyril Versigghel. At the age of nine, his family moved to Belgium. He lived there until he joined the United States Army. Donald was a Vietnam Veteran and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1973.

Following his career with the military, Donald worked for the United States Postal Service for fourteen years. He loved to travel, especially with his loving wife, Louise. Together they volunteered for Meal on Wheels and enjoyed helping others. At age of 79, Donald went whitewater rafting on the Chattoga River in North Carolina with his family. His latest memories were of the cabin in Spring Lake, Georgia. Many summers were spent there with his grandson Ryan and all the family. Donald will be missed by friends and family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Louise Versigghel; daughter, Danielle (Larry) Cobb; son, Joel Versigghel; and his pride and joy, grandson, Ryan (Emily) Cobb.
