Donald Martin Spiller, 92 of Ormond Beach, passed peacefully on April 24, 2014, at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, Daytona Beach, FL. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, April 30th at 3:00 p.m. at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond; 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach.

Donald was born October 22, 1921 in Mechanic Falls, Maine to Martin and Marion (Morrell) Spiller. He attended the University of Maine and went on to receive his Master's at Purdue University. Donald served his country proudly during WW II in the US Army, where he received numerous awards for his valor in action. He served in the Tunisian Campaign of North Africa and the Rome/Arno Campaign of Italy. Donald later went on to serve as an Agricultural Economist in the Dairy Production & Distribution field.

He was a member of American Legion Post 0267, Disabled American Veteran's Chapter 84, was Past President of the Local AARP Chapter 5319, was a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of First United Methodist Church of Ormond Beach. He enjoyed playing golf, basketball, and dog racing. But most of all, he enjoyed his devoted family and close friends. Donald and his loving wife Sylvia relocated to Ormond Beach in 1988 where he became active in the Library Planning Board and was the Vice President of The Falls HOA.

He is survived by his two daughters, Barbara Ruth Kessler of Delray Beach, FL, and Gloria Doris (Walter) Chazin of Scotch Plains, NJ, as well as seven grandchildren, Steven Kessler, Lauren Chirico, Robin Kessler, Paul (Norma) Kessler, Scott (Bonnie) Kessler, Mindy (Dave) Koprowski, and Howard (Jacqueline) Chazin, and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, and his loving wife, Sylvia Spiller.
