A Celebration of Life for Donald J. Seps 73 of Ormond Beach who passed away on Wednesday June 13 2007 at home will be held Tuesday June 19 2007 at 5:00 p.m. at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond Chapel 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. His family will receive friends on Tuesday afternoon from 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the Lohman Funeral Home Ormond. Donald was born on July 8 1933 in Oak Park IL. He was athletic and participated in football track and wrestling and sang the chorus at Riverside Brookfield High School where he graduated in 1951. In 1953 Donald joined the Army. While in the Army he met Helen Moutas from Augusta GA and they were married in 1955. He then returned to Galesburg IL where he resumed is studies at Knox College. Don completed his pre-law courses and graduated in 1957. From there he went to law school at the University of FL and graduated on June 6 1960. Don then came to Daytona Beach and worked for Sessions Law Firm. In 1961 he opened his own law practice at North Oleander Ave. in Daytona Beach. He partnered with Duffett Barry Seps & Cobb and then later with Duffett Seps and Akers. He also worked with Kermit Coble Micheal Chiumento and Paul Katz of Palm Coast. Paul was very kind and generous to Don and his family during Don's illness. Don served as General Counsel Daytona Beach area Board of Realtor (1961-1985) City Attorney City of Ormond Beach (1972-1983) Board of Directors Attorneys' Title Insurance Fund (1990-1991) and General Counsel Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce (1998-2007). He enjoyed boating fishing and hunting. Don was a member of the Gopher Swamp Hunting Club. He was an avid Gator fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR and the 24 hour races. Don and Judy would have celebrated their 32nd anniversary this July. Don had a lengthy illness and died peacefully at home where Judy had been caring for him for several months. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Irene Seps his son Donald Seps Jr. Judy's son Lawrence Monberg III and just recently his loyal dog and companion Ginger who never left his side. Don is survived by his loving wife Judy his sister Nancy Kern of IL his daughters Christina (Jim) White of Holly Hill and Ashley Seps of GA Judy's son Christopher Monberg his five grandchildren and a great grandchild.
