Donald George O'Brien , 62, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday January 18, 2020 at Advent Health in Palm Coast, Florida.  He was born on November 21, 1957 in Plainfield, New Jersey to Donald and Virginia O'Brien. Donald was a longtime resident of South Plainfield, NJ, graduating high school there in 1975. While living in South Plainfield, he was a member of the volunteer fire department. Don wedded the love of his life, Mary Karen Keane, and resided in Colonia, NJ, before relocating to Palm Coast, FL where they have lived and raised their family for the past 28 years. Don's kindness and smile was welcomed by all who met him. He enjoyed good music, NASCAR, and football. He always had a passion for painting and in recent years he began to paint more, creating amazing artwork that has been enjoyed by so many of his loved ones. Above all things, Don loved being with his family. Donald leaves behind his wife Mary Karen of Palm Coast, son Derek of St. Augustine, daughter Shannon of Jacksonville, mother Virginia of South Plainfield (NJ), brother Michael of North Plainfield (NJ), sister, Catherine of Greenbrook (NJ), sister Susan Mason of Odessa, and brother Mark of South Plainfield (NJ) . Don is predeceased by his father Donald O'Brien, Sr.

A Visitation will be held from 2-4 PM and from 6-8 PM on Friday January 24, 2020 at Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 on Saturday January 25, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 4600 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast.  Burial will follow at San Lorenzo Cemetery, St. Augustine, Florida.  Immediately following the Burial a reception will be held at Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast.  Condolences may be shared with the family here on our online guestbook.
