Don Matthews went to be with the Lord on February 1st, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. He was born on May 3rd, 1948 in Toronto, Canada and grew up in Windsor, Ontario. He was a graduate of EIT and held a bachelor's degree in computer science. He was an IT auditor for most of his career and retired in 2012. Don and his wife moved to Port Orange, FL in 2016.

In his younger years, Don enjoyed playing baseball, bowling, and playing hockey. Throughout his life he loved watching sports. He enjoyed cheering for his New England Patriots, LA Dodgers, Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Maple Leafs.

Don spent his summers' at his parent's cottage on Lake Erie, where he first met his wife June. They started dating years later and married in 1970. They were married for 52 years. They went on to have four daughters and he loved his girls more than anything.

Don loved spending time with his wife, telling Dad jokes, being a girl Dad, and being a Papa. He had a smile that would light up the room. He had a sense of humor that brought joy to everyone around him. He will be missed terribly and always hold a special place in our hearts.

He is predeceased by his mother Greta Pociluyko (Gene) and his father Donald Matthews (Jean). He is survived by his wife, June Matthews, daughters Tamara Palmer (John), Amber Weiner (Jeff), Ashley Daffern (Stephen), and Meaghan Matthews (Danny), brothers Rob Matthews (Jo), Paul Matthews (Joyce), Mark Pociluyko, and many nieces and nephews. He loved being a Papa and is survived by his 10 grandkids: Autumn, Austin, Promise, Aislinn, Zeke, Xaida, Brendon, Grant, Jack, and Mandy.

A memorial service will be held in his honor on February 20th, 2023 at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange, FL from 2pm-4pm.
