It is with deep sadness that the family of Donald Fredrick Lowe announces his passing. Don passed away on Tuesday March 30 2010 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House in Palm Coast FL. Don was the second youngest of seven children born to Carl Jr. and Grace Keener Lowe in 1927 in Freemont OH. He was a loving husband father stepfather grandfather son and brother who dedicated his life to his wife and family. Don graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1945 and was co-captain of the football team that went to the finals of the state tournament. He graduated from Colorado State University (formally Colorado A&M) with a Bachelors Degree in Engineering and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. After graduation Don went to work for E.I. Dupont and retired after 35 years as Superintendent of Employee Relations. He brought his wife and family to Palm Coast Fl in 1983 where he enjoyed his love of golf and fly-fishing. Don was a World War II Veteran. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal. As a young man Don was actively involved in The Boy Scouts of America. Don was a member of the Professional Engineers Association was Commodore two years Matanzas River Yacht Club Palm Coast Yacht Club MTOA a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church Elks Lodge and was a Certified Scuba Diver. Don is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Margaret (Marge); his son David F. Lowe (Terese) Parker CO; his daughter Donna Jane Lowe Seattle WA; four stepchildren Cathleen L. Pavacik Cleveland OH; Michael F. Pavacik (Michelle) Zeeland MI; Pamela S. Nicholson (John) Ramsey NJ; Penelope A. Lawrence Orlando FL and six grandchildren Matthew Lowe Jade and Taylor Nicholson; Erin and Ashley Pavacik and Trenton Lawrence. Don also leaves behind two sisters Margaret E. Seacrest Lincoln NE; Dorothy E. Dumler Medford OR; and one brother William O. Lowe Lander WY. He is survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by brothers Dr. Carl C. Lowe Ithaca NY Richard R. Lowe Colorado Springs CO and one sister Jean L. Busch Fort Collins CO. A Celebration of Don's Life will be held on Wednesday April 21 2010 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Presbyterian Church 156 Florida Park Drive Palm Coast FL officiated by The Rev. Dr. Ronald Watson Jr. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Trinity Presbyterian Church 156 Florida Park Drive Palm Coast FL or to the Stuart F.
