Donald F. Harris Sr. 82 of Ormond Beach FL passed away on April 7 2009. Private services will be held at a later date. He was born in Buffalo NY to Kennerson and Margaret Harris. Don proudly served our Country in the US Navy on the USS Tetion stationed in the Pacific. When he returned he worked on railroads and in 1953 he joined General Motors where he was employed for 30 years prior to retiring at age 56. In 1991 he and his wife Carol to whom he was married 57 years relocated to Ormond Beach where they became members of Prince of Peace church. Don will best be remembered for his distinct giggle and brilliant smile. He adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren immensely. He enjoyed photography and often used his grandchildren as models for his photos. In addition to photography he could also be found working on the latest crossword puzzles. Don will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Carol; daughters Kathy Sennett of Perkiomenville PA Janice (Jerrold) Hoffmann of Buffalo NY; son Donald (Marcia) Harris Jr. of Grand Island NY; sister Marie "Sis" Kroneis of Buffalo NY Margaret Klee of Cheektowaga NY; brother Kennerson (Doreen) Harris of Tonawanda NY six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
