Donald Thomas "Don" Gray age 79 passed away on Thursday May 24 2007 at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach.
Don was born in Cincinnati Ohio on March 21 1928 to Clarence Ward Gray & Genevieve (nee: Wright) Gray. Don was the fifth of thirteen children; and helped to care for and raise his younger siblings after their father's untimely death at a young age when Don was 18.
In 1944 Don began a 42 year career with the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad (later to become CSX). He left his job from 1950 until 1952 in order to serve his country. Don was a Corporal in US Army during the Korean War. After his Honorable discharge from the service Don returned to B & O until his retirement in 1987. Don then moved to Indiana for a number of years until moving to Flagler Beach Florida in the early 1990's and later to Palm Coast. Don loved animals especially dogs and he enjoyed tending to his plants and sitting near the pool or at the beach.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and by five of his siblings Bernie Gray Clarence "Dink" Gray John Gray Dorothy (and husband George) Hensler and Thomas Gray; as well as a brother in law Ed Wessel.
He is survived by his other siblings Jean Wessel Richard A. (Mitzi) Gray Robert E. (Cecelia) Gray James R. (Irene) Gray Eileen (Thomas) Tagenkamp Patrick M. (Maureen) Gray & Dennis (Donna) Gray; sisters in law Marlyn Gray Kiki Gray & Ann Gray; 62 nieces & nephews; over 100 great nieces & nephews; many great-great nieces & nephews and his faithful companion & best friend "Luke".
