Donald Aubrey Gammon, age 85, died on March 1, 2022, at the home of his daughter, Darlinda Gammon Copeland. Don is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara M. Gammon. He was born and raised in Miami, Florida.  He graduated from Miami Edison High School in 1954 and attended the University of Florida for one year before joining the US Army 1956—1959.  He started his working career at Mullins Construction Company before spending the remainder of his professional life at General Development Corporation from 1962-1996. He began his career at GDC as a Clerk in the Customer Service Department.  Because of his work ethic and loyalty to the company, he continued to be promoted throughout his career and ended it as the Vice President over Sales and Marketing.  In addition to his work duties, Don planned, organized, and oversaw numerous sales conventions for GDC throughout the United States, Europe and Mexico.  Moreover, he trained and inspired several employees who later became very successful in the business world.  Don was loyal to God and his family.  He served many years as Deacon at FBC Hialeah, Florida and was on numerous minister search and building committees throughout his life.  In addition, he was friend and confidant to many young ministers along their journey as well.  Don was a family man.  He valued his family and extended family.  He spent quality time with them at home and beyond: building sand castles and swimming in the ocean at the beach, numerous fishing trips to the barge in the Miami Bay, and working and singing around the piano at the house on Dream Mountain.  He also enjoyed the simple things: ball games, picnics, singing, and attending church functions.  He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and hunter.  His hobbies were raising roses and orchids, playing billiards and taking numerous photographs with his cameras, and watching sports on television.  After retirement, Don and Barbara made friends in each of their neighborhoods:  Halifax Plantation, Lakes of Pine Run, Bishops Glen, and Seaside Manor.  Along his life journey, Don was well loved and cherished for his wisdom, laughter, and compassion. Truly, he will be sorely missed in all the places he lived and in all the lives he touched. He leaves behind, his wife, Barbara M. Gammon; Children, Robert Aubrey Gammon (Susan) and Darlinda Gammon Copeland; Grandchildren, Trevor Copeland (Chelsy), Meagan Copeland Arrington (Zane), Stephanie Gammon Blum (Michael), David Gammon, Michael Gammon; Great Grandchildren, Tanner Copeland, Carlei Copeland, Tori Copeland; Brother in law Jon Ed Mullins (Sally); Sister in law Karen Mullins; Nephews, Ron Allen Mullins (Karyn), Craig Mullins (Karen), Ross Mullins (Sherry), Jay Mullins (Rebecca); and Aunt, Jewel Henley (Everett). A visitation with the family will be held  from 9:30am to 11am at Providence Church, 1151 W Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach, FL 32174 , with the service following at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Providence Church, or Paradise Point (ALF) in memory of Don A. Gammon.
