Donald (Don) J. Frese
Don went to our Heavenly Father unexpectedly on August 8 2008. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday August 14 2008 at 6:00pm at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach FL. Born in Toronto Ontario on December 25 1938 Don moved to Daytona Beach as a teen. He graduated from Mainland High School in 1956. Don proudly served in the US Army in Germany in the early 1960's. He worked for Winn-Dixie and the Daytona News before beginning a long career in 1974 as a clerk at the Daytona Beach Post Office where he retired in 2005. Don was preceded in death by his parents and beloved grandmother Evelyn Pape. Survivors include his wife and best friend Glenda (Pierson) Frese; his brothers: Gerald (Carol) Frese of Surprise AZ and James (Ruth) Frese of Seymour TN; his sister: Judy (Bob) Berghult of Warner Robins GA; his sons: Jack "Ty" Tyson (Jessica) Frese of Port Orange FL and Christopher (Amanda) Frese of Milwaukee WI and their mother Joyce (Finkell) Frese of Holly Hill FL; along with his grandchildren: Colton Jada Brooks Celeste and Quinian. Through the years Don enjoyed coaching his sons in Little League baseball Pop Warner football playing in a softball league with his postal coworkers bowling golfing and all sports as a spectator. He was particularly an avid Packer fan. Don read voraciously and held strong opinions on politics. He was proud union member who enjoyed his coworkers and was extremely proficient at his job setting an example for fellow employees. Don had a marvelous gift of bringing joy to everyone he encountered. He brought out the best in all eliciting smiles wherever he went. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations in Don's memory be sent to Best Friends Animal Society 5001 Angel Canyon Road Kanab Utah 84741.
