On Saturday, November14th, Donald H Dutton peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his children.  Don was born on June 24 ^th , 1946 to Howard F. Dutton and Beverly Hodgkin.

Don is survived by his three children.  Michael Dutton of Haverhill Mass, Christine Rooney and her husband Jamie of Haverhill and Dawn Dutton and her longtime partner Brian Johnson of Haverhill.

He is also survived by his brother David Dutton and wife Marilyn of Merrimac Ma. and his sister Diane Wilson and husband Ronald of Groveland Mass. He has 4 grandchildren, Joshua Eastman, Jared Dutton, Jenna Dutton & Olivia McQuesten. He has a great granddaughter Jaylah Eastman.

He also had several nieces and nephews.

Don grew up in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill High School in 1964. He attended East Coast Aero Tech. Later, he became a flight instructor at the family Dutton Airport. He worked for Phoenix East in Lawrence Mass for 5 years and finished out his career in Florida for the last 30 years.  As the Chief Aerobatic Instructor he taught many people over the years and performed in many air shows throughout his career.

Don had a deep love of airplanes from a very young age. He wanted to follow in his fathers footsteps. During the course of his career he taught thousands of people how to fly.

Anyone who knows Don, knows he is deathly afraid of heights, but he was happiest in the sky.

He was an avid collector of rare coins and loved old cadillacs.  He enjoyed going to the casino and trying his luck at the blackjack table.

He loved reading books and easily had a collection of over 1,000 books, until he learned about the Ipad, that was an exciting day!

He spent the last 30 years in Florida enjoying the warm weather where he had many wonderful friends.

Chet and Christine Favale were his dearest friends. They spent alot of time together over the years and shared many holiday dinners together. His children are forever grateful for their friendship.

Don had a very witty sense of humor that always made people laugh.  He will be dearly missed by all that knew him, especially his children.

Halifax Health Hospice and Visiting Angels brought Don's children such comfort during a very difficult time and we can't thank them enough for their kindness.
