Obituary

Donald G. Meyer of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and loved ones at 1:14am on December the ninth, 2015. He was born in Deland, Florida on June 17th, 1934. He was 81 years old.

Known as Don to his friends and D.G. by many of his business associates, he was a life-long resident of the Daytona Beach area. He graduated from Mainland High School in 1952. After working for many years at D.W. Browning Company where he advanced through the years to shop manager, foreman, supervisor, and eventually the Executive Vice President, he left when the company changed hands to pursue other business ventures. In early 1987, Don, along with daughter Linda, Joe Berger and later Steven Jones started D.G. Meyer Inc. which is today one of the largest, most reputable and successful Air Conditioning, Heating, Electrical and Sheet Metal contractors in Central Florida.

Don Meyer's legacy in this community and state extends far beyond his business concerns. He is Patriarch to a large and thriving family. He is survived by his wife, Katherine (Sue) Meyer; his four daughters, Gwen Simmons, Dawn Roberson, Linda Longfritz and Cynthia Pilkington; Eleven Grandchildren, Ten Great-Grandchildren and One Great-Great Granddaughter. He is also survived by his Brother, James E. Meyer and Sister-in-Law, Georgia and two nieces.

A Visitation will be held from 3-5 PM on Saturday December 12, 2015 in the Chapel at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday December 12, 2015 in the Chapel at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond.

In lieu of flowers the Family requests donations be made to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32127.

We are a blessed family. We have been and continue to be the recipients of the love, prayers and concern of an entire community. We are saying farewell to a dreamer, a doer, an adventurer and a trailblazer
