Donald L. Black 81 of Ormond Beach passed away on Sunday October 3 2010 at the Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center Daytona Beach FL. A memorial gathering is to be held on Wednesday October 6th from 9 A.M. until the start of the Memorial Service at 11 A.M. at The First United Methodist Church 336 S. Halifax Drive Ormond Beach Florida. Cremation is to be private. All arrangements are under the careful direction of The Lohman Funeral Home Ormond located at 733 W. Granada Blvd Ormond Beach Florida. Donald was born in Cleveland Ohio to the late Andrew Black and Ruth Carney. He attended Euclid Central High school Ohio and received his B.A. in business from Baldwin-Wallace College in 1951. Donald was employed for the Morrison Company where he started as an office boy working his way up to sales manager and eventually President and part owner of the Company. Donald was a veteran of the US Army serving in Korea in Tokyo Japan. He was a member of Jaycees Rotary Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity of Baldwin-Wallace and a proud member of The United Methodist Church. Donald was a God-loving man who will be remembered for his appreciation for the outdoors and for the love to which he showed his family.
Donald is predeceased by his brother Wayne Black. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Dorothea "Dotti" of Ormond Beach FL three sons David Black and his wife Mary Jane of Minnesota Ron Black and his wife Cristina of Ohio and Gregg Black and his wife Jane of Michigan Brother Richard "Dick" Black of Ohio sister-in-law Sylvia Black of Florida. Donald was also the very loving Grandfather of his ten beautiful grandchildren. Donations may be made in Donald's name to The First United Methodist Church Ormond 336 S.
