Donald F. Arbuckle Jr. 77 of Ormond Beach passed into the presence of his Lord Jesus Christ on July 11 2012. A Service of Remembrance for Don will be Friday July 20 2012 from 1-2pm at Coquina Presbyterian Church 2085 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach FL 32174 with Pastor Neal Ganzel officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at 2:30pm at Daytona Memorial Park 1425 Bellevue Av Daytona Beach FL 32114.
Don spent his early years in Jacksonville FL and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School. Following high school he attended Bible Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth TX where he received his Bachelor of Divinity in May 1956. He then went on to proudly serve his country for "2 years 9 months 8 days and 8 hours" in the US Army as a Communications Specialist just before the Vietnam War and was stationed in the Philippines. After military service he entered the insurance field working for Gulf Life. Don started Arbuckle and Associates an insurance and investments agency which he had for 40 years. Don loved his work and never fully retired.
Don and Alice his wife of 23 years moved to Ormond Beach in 2002. They have been members of Coquina Presbyterian Church PCA for 9 years. Don has been a faithful Christian since he was a young man. He is a beloved Elder and Sunday School teacher at his church.
Don's great sense of humor will be remembered. He was famous for ending a great meal with the phrase "That was a good snack." He liked to ride his bike and go to the gym. He particularly enjoyed dominoes and card games. Don loved to socialize. He especially loved spending time with Alice and his family.
Don will be sadly missed by his wife Alice; by his sons: John (Margo) Arbuckle of Palatka FL Keith (Ruth Ann) Arbuckle of Palm Bay FL step-son Bruce (Tracy) Black of Pensacola FL his step-daughter MJ (Milo) Rixe of Texas and by his 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He will also be mourned by his brothers: Dan (Jean) Arbuckle and David (Trudy) Arbuckle of FL; and by his sisters: Jane Fleming of CA and Janet (Paul) Austin of FL; and by many friends.
