Ralph Donell "Don" Sanders 78 passed away January 15 2013. A Funeral Service in Don's honor will be held Saturday January 19 2013 at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond. Family welcomes friends for the Visitation from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Funeral Service will begin at 12:00pm in the Lohman Funeral Home Ormond Chapel.
Don was born in Baker County Georgia but spent the majority of his life in Florida. Don had a long career with the telephone company holding various positions through craft and management. He retired in 1987 but returned to work as a contractor.
Don was an avid Nascar fan and he loved John Wayne. Don happily made watching Western movies like The Magnificent Seven and Silverado mandatory viewing for his grandchildren. Don played softball in local and church leagues. He also enjoyed crossword puzzles. Don adored his dogs Dennis Duke and Abby. No pedigree was required with his special mutts. Don especially loved being on the area lakes. He loved "date nights" which included watching every full moon at the beach with his wife Patricia.
Don was a devoted family man; a loving son husband father grandfather and brother. He was a part of the generation that is the backbone of our country believing strongly in family faith and hard work.
Don will be sadly missed by his wife of 11 years Patricia Sanders; by his daughter Sarah Moore of Ormond Beach FL; by his daughter Cathy Sanders Dunn from Bear Delaware; by his son Craig Donell Sanders from Bear Delaware; by his grandchildren: Alysson Jean Sanders Kirstyn Danielle Sanders Shayne Donell Sanders Elisabeth Ann Dunn and Blair Jordan Dunn. He is also survived by his brothers Gene Sanders of Fort McCoy FL and Wayne Sanders of Damascus Maryland. Don was predeceased by his wife of 43 years Barbara McClintock Sanders and by his son Christopher Brooks Sanders.
