Dobrila Radovich age 87 of Raleigh NC formerly of Ormond Beach went to her heavenly reward on Monday May 24 2010. A funeral mass in her honor will be held on Friday May 28 2010; 11:00 AM at the Holy Cross Orthodox Church 375 Fleming Ave Ormond Beach with Fr. Michael Bryars officiating followed by an interment at Daytona Memorial Park. A 5:00 visitation and a 6:30 Trisagion prayer service will be held Thursday May 27 at the Daytona chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home.

Dobrila was born in Vrsac Srbija to Kosta and Rakila Flora. She was the oldest of 3 children and attended Beograd Teachers College. She dedicated her life to helping others: during WWII she worked with the underground to help families escape Europe and was a nurse's aid in a displaced persons camp in Austria ; upon coming to the United States she worked as a nurse's aid at a hospital for the mentally ill in Elgin Ill while also working for many years at the Chicago Rawhide factory and later she and her husband owned their own restaurant the Belgrade Pit Barbeque in Harbor Oaks FL. She was always willing to help friends and family in anyway she could.

She will best be remembered for: her independent spirit incredible strength unfaltering character huge heart quick-witted humor loyalty and her delicious cooking. She was strong courageous and vibrant taking chances where many faltered. She was a giving and loyal friend a tough but loving matriarch and a five-star chef with snappy one-liners that she claimed always rhymed in Serbian. She enjoyed cooking knitting reading and spending time with loved ones and was a proud member of Holy Cross Orthodox Church and St. Barbara's Greek Orthodox Church

Her parents siblings: Kosta Rakila and Vojislav Flora and beloved husband of 40 years; Nikola Radovich preceded her in death and she leaves behind to cherish her memory a son Vojislav "Budd" Radovich and his wife Victoria a brother Mile Flora a niece Dobrila 2 granddaughters; Andjelia Barton and Aleksandra Berry and 2 great-grandchildren whom she adored.

Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Daytona.
