IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dennis C.
Ross
December 30, 1948 – January 3, 2026
Dennis C. Ross, aged 77, passed away peacefully at his home in Palm Coast on January 3rd, 2026.
He was born to Lois and Earl Ross in Junction City, Kansas on December 30, 1948. In Kansas, Dennis worked with his electrician dad and became a certified electrician. Dennis had a fear of heights, and thought learning to fly would help him overcome his fear; he became certified as a teenager but never got over the fear.
He moved to Flagler as a young adult and started his own business, Johnson Beach Electric, and in 1985 changed direction and started Ross Excavating. The business continues with his wife and two sons. Dennis was a savvy businessman and was always buying property and farmland. One of his favorite investments was the IceHouse in Bunnell, where we rented out office space and ran a bar. The Old IceHouse Saloon very generously hosted many charitable events, and he was especially fond of the "Christmas for Kids", a gift and dinner program we sponsored for the kids and their parents. Dennis and Fred (one of our renters) had a great time keeping up with the bar repairs and maintenance and the socializing after.
He was an avid fisherman and fished from the gulf to the Bahamas. His passion was speed: corvettes, motorcycles and hot rods; recently building a 1931 Ford, and he worked tirelessly on his entries for car shows. As his Parkinson's progressed, he joined a gym specializing in exercises for the disease, "Rock Steady" program and started boxing regularly until he was no longer able.
Dennis is survived by his wife Pamela, sons Brad (Elizabeth), Jason (Elena) and Brad's two daughters Callie and Morgan. He is predeceased by his loving parents and his beloved German Shepperd – Rookie.
