Dennis Michael Lowes, 77, of Palm Coast, Florida, recently relocated from New York, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024. Dennis was born in Erie, Pennsylvania to Harold Lowes and Betty Lowes [née Phillips] on January 21, 1947. He was a graduate of Paul Smith College class of 1966, later received a business degree from Pace University, and served honorably in the United States Army from 1967-1969.
Dennis was a land surveyor, licensed in three states, for over 50 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, canoeing, and snow shoeing. He was a voracious reader with interests in history, military, and railroads. He enjoyed classical music and was a member of many choirs including a Madrigal Choir. Dennis was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Barbara Lowes, his daughter Laurel Campbell (husband, Timothy); stepsons Timothy McKenney (wife, Marta), Matthew McKenney (wife, Jinelle), James McKenney (wife, Ame), Nathan McKenney (wife, Kerry); brother, Jeffrey Lowes, eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and other extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be at Florida National Cemetery located at 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, Florida at a future date.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that any donations be made to Lake Shore Railway Historical Society and Museum(www.lakeshorerailway.com) in honor of Dennis Lowes.
