It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis Lee Francis, 81, of Port Orange, Florida. He passed away peacefully on Friday, June 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania on September 10, 1943, to his parents Franklin Kline Francis and Florence Francis.

He attended Williamsport High School in Williamsport, PA, graduating in 1961. He enrolled in the US Army in 1966 and served until 1969. He then was employed at Rochester Gas and Electric until 1980. He then moved to Crystal River, Florida where he worked for Florida Power Nuclear Power Plant as a Nuclear Instructor for 18 years (before having a stroke).

He served as a Deacon at Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church, and he was a pillar in the community. Everyone that knew him, loved him. He was an amazing athlete who loved sports. He loved to Coach and was a wonderful role model to many kids, besides his own.

Denny is survived by the of his loving wife, Betty, of 55 years. They were married March 7, 1970. He had 3 children: Steve Francis, Dina Hartman (Eddie), and Gwen Porter (Halden). His grandchildren are Brooke Hartman, Taylor Hartman, Bailee Porter, Riley Porter, and Colton Porter. His brother's Gary Francis from Apopka, FL, Glen Francis of Williamsport, PA, and predeceased by Jim Francis of Williamsport, PA.

He will be greatly missed.
