Funeral services for Della Sue Decker Roberts 78 who passed away on Monday March 26 2007 in Orlando will be held at 1:30 pm on Tuesday April 3 2007 at the Daytona Chapel of Lohman Funeral Homes. She was born in Daytona at the Oaks Hotel on Ridgewood Avenue on April 23 1928 and graduated valedictorian from Mainland High School in 1946. She graduated from Stetson in 1951 with honors after which time she taught elementary school in Umatilla Lady Lake and Newberry for several years. Della Sue was a 6th generation Floridian and the oldest child of Doris Edwards Decker and Lawrence D. Decker. Della Sue loved to read and sing and played the piano for many years. She especially loved to read about history. Also she loved to share memories of Daytona. Della Sue is survived by her two daughters Valerie Davis and Diana Cotanche and four grandchildren. She is also survived by her former husband and friend Charles M. Roberts; her two brothers John B. Decker and Lawrence E. Decker; her two sisters Doris "Bubbles" Kralik and Bonnie Tippets; and numerous other family members and friends including her friends at Conway Lakes. Della Sue was preceded in death by her parents Doris and Larry Decker and her sister Joan Decker Perry.
