Deborah "Debbie" Elbers Huskey, 63, who resided in Tampa, FL but was born and raised in Daytona Beach, FL. passed away Friday July 15, 2016, peacefully at Empath Hospice in Pinellas Park, FL surrounded by her family while listening to a Beatles medley. A Celebration of Life will be held at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona on Saturday July 30th. Debbie was born August 16, 1952, at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach to Henry James "Jim" Elbers and Margaret "Virginia" Adams Elbers Heric.
Debbie loved the outdoors and her family, especially her grandbabies and great grandbabies. She loved her time with her family, friends and co-workers and all their wonderful memories together. She also enjoyed fishing, scrapbooking, crafting and NASCAR, with her favorite driver being Dale Earnhardt Sr. She was a friend to many but most importantly a wonderful mom and she will be missed greatly by all.
Surviving Debbie are her loving daughter Trisha Hadley Keister (Justin) who took on the fight against cancer hand-in-hand with Debbie; son Jeremy Lates (Joy); brothers James "Jimbo" Elbers, Chip Elbers (Sara); sisters Tara Elbers Lamb (Rob) and Michelle Elbers Mote (Bobby); grandchildren Darryl Keister (Jamie Lynn), Shane Keister (Shauntel) and Charles Keister III and her precious great-grandchildren.
Debbie was proceeded in death by her dad, Henry James "Jim" Elbers, step-mom Susie Lewis Elbers and mom Virginia Heric. To honor Debbie's memory, she and the family would be grateful, in lieu of flowers or other condolences, for Memorial Donations to be made in her name to Empath Health Hospice Care, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760 (www.empathhealth.org). Visitation and viewing for family and friends will be held July 30, 2016 from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM at Lohman's Funeral Home. Services will commence at 1:00 PM followed by interment.
