Dawn A. Strickland, 76 of Deltona, Florida passed away peacefully at home on June 6, 2024 after a long battle with lung cancer. Dawn was a beautiful, loving and caring woman, Wife, Mother, Aunt and Friend.

Dawn was born on February 4, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio and grew up in Toledo, Ohio. Moved to Melbourne, Florida in 1961. Met the love of her life, Robert W. Strickland and they married on October 18, 1969. She knew he was the one because he always made her laugh.

Dawn worked in banking most of her career. Retired early at 61, from the Department of Transportation ("Right of Way") in DeLand, Florida. In her leisure moments, she enjoyed scrapbooking, organizing, watching old movies and spending time with her friends and family (cats included) and especially cherished quality time with her only daughter.

Dawn was a kind, nurturing and giving person who always put the needs of others before her own. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Dawn will always be in our hearts and we will never forget her. We love her and miss her so much. Now she can rest in eternal peace.

She is predeceased by her father, Wilbur A. Sater; mother, Audrey I. Sater; brothers, Reginald M. and Randall K. Sater; and uncles, Richard O. and Donald A. Sater.

Dawn is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert W. Strickland; daughter, Stacey M. Strickland; brothers, Bradley N., Brian L. and Douglas A. Sater; uncle, Roy A. (Pat) Sater; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and her favorite cats, Scooty and Minnie, who miss her dearly.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by Lohman Funeral Home in Deltona, Florida.
