David Middleton Tedford, 71, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 10, 2024. He was born on December 17, 1952, in Melbourne, Florida. He graduated from Eau Gallie HS in 1971 and attended Brevard Community College. In 1975, David joined the United States Air Force where he found his passion for aviation. After almost 7 years, David was honorably discharged as a SSGT and began his career as an air traffic controller with the Federal Aviation Administration. David was a natural instructor and took immense pleasure in training new controllers. After 32 and half years, he retired from the FAA but continued teaching newly assigned controllers how to work Daytona Beach Approach Control.

David loved the water, especially boating with family and friends. From sailing the BVI's, lobstering in the Keys to maximizing the RPMs on the river, David was a true captain of the seas.

David's passing is proceeded by his parents Arthur Tedford and Gertrude Tedford, his loving wife of 44 years, Velma Tedford, and his sister, Patricia McGowen. He is survived by his daughter Brooke (Gary) Tefft; grandchildren Mason, Amy and Ryan; great grandson Paxton; sister, Barbara DeNeve (Rick); brother, Arthur Tedford; brother-in-law, Jim Hill (Cyndi); niece, Lauren DeNeve (Jason Bacher); nephew, Brian Bolton; niece, Heather Albright (Dan); nephew, Jamie Hill (Jennifer); niece, Tina Rendleman (Ryan); and many other extended family and friends

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 11:00am at Lohman Funeral Home, Palm Coast Chapel, 220 Palm Coast Pkwy SW, Palm Coast, FL 32137.
