David Nels Swanson

September 7, 1938 ~ September 21, 2022

David Nels Swanson, 84, a retiree from Caterpillar Inc., Peoria, Illinois, and now residing in Port Orange, Florida, passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 21, 2022.  He was born on September 7, 1938 in Peoria, Illinois and grew up in the Creve Coeur, Illinois area.  David was an excellent marksman with many awards.  He was also a lifetime member of The Rifleman's Association.  He was an avid motorcross fan and loved supporting his son's in the sport, attending many races at Daytona Speedway, along with making the trip to Loretta Lynn's Ranch for the AMA National Motorcross.  David worked several years during bike week on The DAYTONA 200 MONUMENT in Daytona Beach, Florida.

He is survived by his wife, Melanie; Two sons, Eric Swanson of Illinois and Victor Swanson of California; Two Grandchildren and Two Great-Grandchildren.
