David Ruiz, 64, a beloved resident of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away Monday, April 20, 2026. He was born on November 5, 1961 in Manhattan, New York. He left behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and deep love for his family and community. His passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew him.

David made his home in Ormond Beach from a young age after moving from New York City, a place that would remain close to his heart throughout his life. He attended St. Brendan’s Catholic Church and later graduated from Father Lopez High School, building lifelong friendships and a strong connection to the community he cherished so deeply.

Known for his warm smile and willingness to help anyone in need, David was a familiar and welcoming presence in town. He had an extensive career spanning many years, including eighteen years with Nestle USA where he served as a Distributor Sales Manager for Florida and Puerto Rico. He later worked as a Payroll Manager at Inspired Review, LLC before following his passion and opening his own restaurant, Ormond Beach Sports Corner Bar and Grill. His restaurant became more than just a business, it was a gathering place where friendships were formed, laughter was shared, and everyone felt at home.

David had a deep love for the beach. He enjoyed surfing, sports, and spending time outdoors. Above all, he treasured time with his family. He was an incredible father and a proud grandfather.

David is survived by his daughter, Kristi Robinson (Rick); daughter, Kelly Ruiz (Matt); daughter, Brittney Davis (Brandon); son, Dylan Ferracane-Ruiz; brother, Victor Ruiz Jr. (Judy); brother, Roy Ruiz (Ana); sister, Olga Schieneman; granddaughter, Emree Robinson; granddaughter, Bristol Fitch; granddaughter, Kennedy Davis; grandson, Easton Davis; granddaughter, Eleanor Davis; and other extended family and friends.

He is reunited in peace with his parents, Vic and Olga Ruiz.

David’s life was defined by his big heart, his generosity, and his unwavering dedication to the people around him. Whether through his involvement in local charitable events, his support of friends and neighbors, or the welcoming spirit he created in his restaurant, he made a lasting impact on his community.

He will be remembered always for his kindness, his laughter, and the love he gave so freely. David Ruiz will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A Memorial Service to celebrate David’s life will be Thursday, May 7th at 2pm at Lohman Funeral Home located at 733 W Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach, FL 32174. In lieu of flowers, when you are surrounded by friends and a good meal, toast David's memory.
