On March 29 , 2019 in Daytona Beach , Florida, David Louis Pothier passed away at the age of 72 with his loving wife of 21 years, Linda Norwood, by his side. David is surviv e d by his two daughters, Christine Pothier Frost (Brian) and Stephanie Pothier-Johnson (Skye), four grandchildren; Jaina Johnson, Brady Frost, Maxwell Johnson and Jillian Frost and sisters Susan Larson (Paul] and Pe ggy Glemming (Wayne). He is preceded in death by his first wife of 27 years, Viviane Pothier, parents Ernest and Alice, brother Peter and sister Sheila.

David was born on October 1 0, 1946 and grew up in Hebron, North Dakota. Growing up, he enjoyed playing any sport he could and earned varsity letters in football and basketball while in high school. While in the Boy Scouts, he achieved the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout. Immediately following graduation from Hebron High School in 1964, he joined the Air Force. His successful 20 yea r military career carried him and his family all over the world, including Greenland, Germany, Turkey, New York, Maryland, Washington and eventually settling in Santa Clara, CA. After his retirement in 19 8 4, he worked as a Department of Defense contractor at GEO Dynamics in Sunnyvale, CA. A few years later, his charisma and ability to wheel and deal yielded a very fruitful second career in the world of automobile sales and finance. He embarked on his third career, this time in real estate, shortly after moving to Tampa, FL with his wife, Linda, in 2000.

As a father and grandfather, David excelled at always being there when it counted. He raised strong and independent daughters and instilled a love of family and adventure. His grandchildren loved to chat with "Grandpa Dave" on the phone and closely listened to his advice. He regularly sent little gifts that they adored and made them feel especially loved.

David was a n avid golfer with a 3 handicap and loved to travel his beloved USA, especially by car. He enjoyed watching classic John Wayne movies, listening to big band and 50 7 60's music, reading spy novels, driving fast cars and experimenting in the kitchen. He loved to d ebate with anyone about politics or life in general. But more than anything, he loved his wife, Linda. Their time together was filled with that love and it was a joy to see.
