David M Leroux Sr., 77, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, in Lake Helen, Florida.
Born on May 29, 1948, in Lowell, Massachusetts, David carried his New England roots with him throughout his life. He later made his home in Lake Helen, Florida, where he and his beloved wife Theresa retired and created a life together.
He spent many years as a Teamsters truck driver, a career that reflected his strong work ethic and dedication to providing for his family. Later in life, he transitioned into real estate, where his natural charisma and easy way with people made him well liked by colleagues and clients alike.
He was known for his warm personality, quick wit, and sense of humor, and he had a special ability to make people feel comfortable. Even those meeting him for the first time felt a connection as if they had known him for years. He had a unique gift for bringing laughter to any room.
He especially cherished the tradition of Father’s Day fishing trips with his children, moments that created lasting memories for the whole family. He enjoyed playing cards and cribbage with his sons, where laughter and friendly competition were always part of the game. Together with his wife, he spent many years renovating homes, a shared passion that reflected their hard work and partnership.
He shared a particularly close bond with his daughter, who was often his “little helper” on construction projects around the house, learning from him and spending countless hours working side by side. Their relationship was one of deep love and respect.
He is survived by his loving children: daughter Trina Leroux and her husband Shawn Allaway of Cape Coral, Florida; son Dale Leroux of Greenville, New Hampshire; and son David Leroux Jr. of Athol, Massachusetts. He will be remembered by his five grandchildren: David Leroux III and his wife Courtney, along with their daughter Emily, of Groveland, Massachusetts; Aaron Leroux of Greenville, New Hampshire; Adrian Leroux of Altoona, Pennsylvania; Derek and Alexis Starke of Athol, Massachusetts.
He is survived by his brother, Alan M. Leroux of Largo, Florida; and his two sisters, Kathie A. Boisvert of Chelmsford, Massachusetts and Darlene C. Costos and her husband, Alan, also of Chelmsford. He leaves several loving nieces and nephews: Jennifer Camann, Cari-Ann Edwards, Jason Leroux, Wesley Leroux, Michael Costos, Elizabeth Leroux, Sabrina Young, Brian Callery, and Sean Callery. In addition to his parents Sophie and Joseph Leroux, he was predeceased by his brother, Clifford R. Leroux.
A private celebration of life will be held by the family to honor and remember David.
