David E. Leahy, 98 of Pelican Bay, Daytona Beach, FL passed away at Bishop Glen Nursing Home on Saturday, April 29, 2017
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 4th at Lohman Funeral Home; 1423 Bellevue Ave. Daytona Beach from 11:00 - 12:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 5th at 8:30 am at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 455 Clyde Morris Blvd. Port Orange, followed by interment at Daytona Memorial Park. David was born on January 20, 1919 in Monson, Massachusetts to Harry and Elizabeth Leahy. He was a certified Public Accountant. During WW II he served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific and the Philippines, retiring from the USNR as a Lt. Commander.
On June 28, 1947, he met and married the love of his life, Irene. He was a comptroller for the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, in Washington, DC until his retirement in 1984.
They moved to Daytona Beach area from Silver Springs, Maryland in 1985. David was an avid golfer and a proud member of Pelican Bay Country Club.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 63 years, Irene on March 29, 2010
