David A. Kerns 75 of Palm Coast Florida passed away January 21 2011 at Stuart F. Meyer Hospice; Palm Coast FL. Visitation will be held on Monday January 24th from 4pm to 7pm at the Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast 220 Palm Coast Parkway SW Palm Coast FL. A funeral service will be held 11am Tuesday January 25th at the First Baptist of Palm Coast Church 6050 Palm Coast Parkway NE Palm Coast FL. Interment to immediately follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery. David was born in Charleston WV. He served three years in the United States Marine Corps followed by 22 distinguished years with the Federal Government. He was awarded the Career Intelligence Medal for exceptional achievement. Dave followed his government service with 11 years with GE Aerospace before retiring with his wife to Palm Coast FL in 1990. He will be remembered as a proud father of his six children and for his love for traveling especially taking cruises with his family and friends. David is survived by his wife of 53 years Marilyn Kerns of Florida sons David Kerns Jr. and his wife Sandra of Virginia Steven Kerns and his wife Elizabeth of Virginia James Kerns of Virginia daughters Cyndi Black and her husband Joel of Virginia Patty Hillman and her husband Bryan of Virginia Norah Reilly and her husband Hunter of South Carolina and sister Ruth Chipman of Florida. David was also the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren Becca Shawn Stephanie Andrew Matthew Hannah Christie Alli Tommy and one great grandson Elijah.
